I am thankful for how God is always watching out for us.
Job 36:7, “He withdraws not His eyes from the righteous...” Him watching us, and us looking away from all that distracts, and looking unto Christ, always does away with the distance between God and us (Heb. 12:2).
In Him watching us, He only has eyes for us. We should only have eyes for Christ. This is where God and man meet, where all distance is done away with. God has positioned us, He has located us in the Son of His love (Col.1:13), the very Son of God, now, the very Son of Man.
“Watch”, “gregoreuo”, Greek, the verb "to watch" is combined with the Greek word "nepho "
Nepho:
to exercise discretion or to be sober-minded
Nepho conveys the sense of calmness or coolness prepared for any emergency and arising out of abstinence from what will excite rather than the more general self-control (egkrateia, self-control, being submitted to the Holy Spirit), and (sophrosune, soberness or sobriety or the limitation of one's freedom).
Hebrew word for watch is tsaphap:
to lean forward, i.e., to peer into the distance; by implication
to observe
to await
to behold
look up
wait for
keep the watch
Gen. 31:49; 2 Sam. 13:34; Isa. 21:5; Nahum 2:1; Hab. 2:1 - "to see."
Ex.14:24, “ashmoreth” means:
a night watch, from “shamar”, to hedge about (as with thorns, 2 Cor. 12:7); i.e. guard.
In Genesis, it means to protect, to attend to; to beware, to be circumspect (Eph. 5:15), take heed (to self), to keep (1 Pet. 1:5), mark, look narrowly, observe (Prov. 23:26), preserve, regard, reserve, save (self), sure (that lay wait for, 2 Tim. 2:24-26), to WATCH.
