Two Trumpets of Silver

Numbers 10:1-10.

The nation of Israel has been delivered, saved out their bondage and their enemies. In Exodus 12, they are delivered by the blood, the death of the sacrificial lamb, and the death angel passes over them. In Exodus 14:21-22, they passed through the Red Sea on dry ground and the way, sure, and clean through the waters of judgment.

These two types teach us that Christ died for us. Rom. 5:5-10. Now in Numbers, they are passing through the wilderness (in type the world system), for the believer the path of conflict and progress in trials, on their way to their promised land, where for us we are to experience all the promises IN CHRIST that are yes and amen! (2 Cor. 1:20).

In Num.10:1 Moses (the type of Christ in the performance of God working through him) was instructed to make two trumpets of silver, one for the calling of the assembly and the other for their journey through the world system on their way to their promised land. These silver trumpets that were blown were always speaking to them redemption. They did not do anything until the particular sound of the trumpet made it clear what they were to do. They were on their way to their promised land but first, they then had to cross the raging Jordan River, in Joshua 3:1-17;4:1.

This is the type of us, as believers, accepting our death with Christ and to experience His resurrection life in us. Here we are as believers today, bought back by Christ Jesus our Lord, walking with Christ on the path through this wilderness world system, on our way to be with Him face to face in heaven. In 1 Cor. 14:7-11, especially in verse 10, none of these tunes, sounds, voices are not without signification, they are not without some kind of significance attached to them. That's why Jesus said in Mk. 4:24, be careful what you hear, and in Lk.8:18, be careful how you hear, and in Ja. 1:19-25, be more ready to hear.

I hear the accuser roar

Of ills that I have done;

I know them all, and thousands more,

Yahweh finds none.

Though the restless foe accuses,

Sins recounting like a flood;

Every charge our God refuses --

Christ has answered with His blood.

Remember with me, Rom. 8:1, the only words written by the Holy Spirit in the Koine Greek are, THERE IS THEREFORE NO CONDEMNATION TO THEM WHICH ARE IN CHRIST JESUS.
