Mark 4:35-41, reveals the impossibility of all of man’s natural resources; and yet how little they, who were in the ship with Him, were prepared for God’s opportunity.
It is one thing to speak a truth, quite another to actually experience and to realize the power of that truth.
Jesus speaks His Word (the very substance of who He is) and the raging sea is instantly calm, and manifested is His ability to keep us in the storm. The storms of life test our faith in Him, who has promised that He would NEVER leave us or forsake us (Jos. 1:5; Heb. 13:5,8).
The storm, our test, was sent to prove to us His ability, when the storm is raging around us, to continue doing what only He has the power to do—to keep us. 1 Cor. 1:24; 1 Pet. 1:5; 2 Tim. 1:7; 1 Jn. 4:18.
He is the same (Mal. 3:6; Heb. 1:12b; 13:5, 8) IN the storm, IN the calm sea, IN sickness and health, IN pressure and rest, IN poverty and abundance. He is the great reality for you and I to lean entirely on in faith-dependence, to cling to, to draw from AT ALL TIMES, and UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCES. (See Ps. 31:15; 1 Pet. 5:6; Jn. 10:28-29).
Are we perplexed and agitated, counting on others and not God? We can be humbled (Ja. 4:6,10) by our tendency to distrust the Lord when IN difficulties and trials. (See Mt. 19:26; Mk. 10:27; Lk. 1:37; 1 Pet. 1:7-9; Heb. 10:35-37).
He is true and faithful (Rev. 21:5) and we all must learn at all all times to “Have faith in God.” Mk. 11:22; Mt. 17:20.
IN our patience we possess our souls, Lk. 21:19. He never allows us to wait without Him, who never leaves us or forsakes us. Heb. 13:5.
