The Lord Our Refuge

Heb. 4:14-16; 2Cor. 4:7

The heart of a believer owns Christ as necessary to him a long time before Christ is his full Object. When He is your Object, you and I are under the control and concentration of His love and grace.

When our hearts (our minds and emotions) begin to work apart from Him, we begin to experience fear and haste and we find we have diverged from our center, our Object. This can be painful and condemning, and we can be thankful that our only resource is His throne of grace.

When the Lord is the resource and refuge of our hearts, difficulties and trials will not overwhelm or discourage you. Instead they will make you more assured of His aid, relief, help, and support. (Gk. word, boetheo).

His loving discipline is to make us partakers of His holiness, to make us partakers of the treasure of His Son, in us, as vessels. Our vessels are fragile clay jars that have stored up in them the excelling treasure of His Son—the very best and highest gift that God could have ever given to each of us.

(Pr.3:11-12;Heb.12:5-13=2P.1:4).
