Renewed | Pt. 2

This word "anakainoo", in Greek, is from "ana", and means "up", or used locally (where we are and when we are in need) means "at."

When this word is used in compounds, as a prefix, it often means repetition, intensity, and reversal. The other part of this word “anakainoo”, is “kainos”, which means new, especially in freshness.

The word means "to renovate", to make new, not recent but different, "to renew", and in 2 Cor. 4:16 it is the passive voice, and this is always the voice of grace without a single bit of effort or works on our part.

God, through the grace and truth of His Son Jesus, will always, moment by moment, give us the daily renewal of our inward man, the renewal of spiritual power. We need the spiritual power of His grace and truth to make the necessary adjustments in our ever-changing circumstances and situations.

We live in this ever-changing and challenging world system, where all grows darker. But thank God, we have in us He who never changes, and in Christ is our only place of renewal and rest, the rest that is ours in the peace of His presence.
