Relationship VS. Service

Romans 12:1-2

"Your" bodies here means that we are to present ourselves, our will, our all to God through Christ. We do not work or perform to present ourselves to God. The focus here is on the relationship, not the service.

Instead of being bound to the old master (Jhn. 8:34), we are now, as willing slaves, bound up to our new Master (Jhn. 8:32, 36). Now, everything we view is in the light of our relationship to our new Master, Jesus Christ our Lord. Now we live in the life that Christ is in us. Now our life is made up of God's thoughts about us in Christ.

Now, as an individual in Christ, I have the intimate experience of our loving Lord Jesus Christ as He masters us with the authority of His love.

Now we are truly free from any other false influences or authorities (Gal. 5:1-6; 2:20-21).
