1 Pet. 2:11; Heb. 13:14; Eph. 6:10-18
Our passage down here is a time of wars and conflicts, we were all born into conflicts. First born in our first head, Adam, and now, in Christ as our new Head, born again. (Ps. 51:5; 58:3; Jn. 1:12; 3:3-6).
Now, if the enemy finds us uncovered, if the flesh in us, that we are no longer “in,” (Rom. 8:9) becomes active through self-will, he can and does harass us. This makes very necessary for us to put on the whole armor of God to be able to meet him. It is not a question of strength against us, but of wiles (subtlety, lies), and God allows us to make the discovery of our present condition by this means.
We all need to occupy ourselves with Christ (Lk. 19:13) that we may be continually refreshed and strengthened. (Ps. 68:28; 2 Cor. 12:9).
It is a great thing to pass through sorrows with Him. (Ps. 23:4; Is. 53:3; 2 Cor.1:3-6). They are then turned into a well (2 K. 3:16), and grace comes down and fills them. (Jn. 1:16).
Let’s pray for each other, that we all might carry our sorrows to Christ (Ps. 55:22; 1 Pet. 5:7), and in our spirits bring Christ to the sorrows, and He will visit us in them in mercy. (Heb. 4:14-16).
In waiting on Him, with Him, He will exalt us in the perfection of His timing and provision. (Gen. 18:14, Jer. 32:17; Mt. 19:26).
