God's way is always to bless through all the trouble we are passing through. This is where the operation of faith comes in. It is complete dependence that casts us on God. The reason is, is that there is no other place of rest here.
We are passing through the darkness of this world system and Christ is our only light because He is light (Jhn. 1:4; 8:12; Eph. 1:17-20).
Christ is everything and when He is truly our everything our eye is single and our whole way through this darkness is Christ, my light (Mt. 6:22). We are headed home, the place where there is no darkness at all, the place where God is, where Christ is glorified.
Here, we need polishing to rub off of us the things that keep the beauty of Christ in us from shining inwardly to ourselves and outwardly to others. Here is the place where all else is to be worn off, and this is where all the trials, the exercises and all else does its work.
When it is all done, all that is left is Christ in us, the hope, the guarantee, of glory (Col. 1:27).
Absent from this body, present with our Lord (2 Cor. 5:8, face to face in an uninterrupted exchange that nothing ever again will disturb or distract (1 Cor. 13:12).
