Through the vessel, Paul said in 1 Cor. 10:6, “Now these things were our examples (our figures), to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.” (Please read the context in 10:1-6)
Example: tupos, from tupto,
a type, i.e. a model (for imitation) or instance (for warning)
in 1 Cor. 10:11, these types were written for our admonition in the Greek it is nouthesia
calling attention to, i.e. (by implication) mild rebuke or warning:- admonition 3 times.
literally, this word means putting in mind and is used of
1. the purpose of the Scriptures (1 Cor. 10:11)
2. of that which is ministered by the Lord (Eph.6:4)
3. of that which is to be administered for the correction of one who creates trouble in the church (Titus 3:10)
Please notice the word "world" in 1 Cor. 10:11 is “aion” which is
an age
a specific time period
So, what are to be our guides as Christians, those who are the Church, the Body, the Bride of Christ? Not the Glory in the Cloud, or in the Tabernacle, or in the Temple, as was presented to God's people in the last age; BUT our Savior in the glory, and the Written Word, and the Holy Spirit down here (Jhn. 14:16-17, 26; 15:26; 16:7).
The real point of the Christian's position is that he professes (confesses) to see the truth of the Church of God, that God is visiting the Jews and Gentiles, and gathering out a people to His name--that God is preparing a bride for His Son. The Bride, the One Body, characterizes the present age, nor is there any excuse for the Christian not to own this truth. This is Ephesian's truth.
