Gal. 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life that I now live in this body I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.”
As we, Christ's own, are on this earth, walking through this world system, "we live BY the faith of the Son of God." God would have all of us to see that this very thing is a principle of conduct, how we behave, in every detail of living.
The definition of the word "principle" is the cause, source, or origin of anything; that from which a thing proceeds; as the principles of motion, of action; Element; constituent part; primordial substance. Being that produces anything; operative cause. Ground; foundation; that which supports an action, or a series of actions or reasoning. A general truth; a law comprehending many subordinate truths.
In 2 Cor. 5:7, "We walk BY FAITH, not by sight (natural reasoning apart from dependence on Christ)."
It isn't that we are exactly consistent in everything, but our life is a life of faith, we have an Object before us, and Christ is the One who governs our lives. Christ is our Object, One who has dealt with everything about the old heart, who has crucified the world system to me and crucified me to this world system (Gal. 6:14).
Because of this, He carries us through this world system independent of it, and completely dependent on Him. This gives us vitality and beautiful character in our lives.
