Christ Our Foundation

The bad news, whether it be in Christendom, or in Christian circles, are all these attacks from the enemy having to do with the person of God’s own Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the work that only He could (and did) finish. These attacks from the enemy today are not new. They have been around for quite some time. They are designed by the enemy to keep the unsaved from believing in the person of Christ and to shake the faith of those that are in Christ, through receiving Him as their Savior.

They are named Universalism, Covenant Theology, Lordship Salvation, and Replacement Theology, just to name the ones that are infiltrating the thoughts of many. The reason is that the crowning experiment of all that was and is the presence of Christ, the Seed of the woman, and the Seed of promise, too; for now, came the Person who answered to all the revelations and promises, the ways and types and prophecies of God. He came in whose Person was found all that was worthy of God, and that was suited to man.

But the coming of Christ brought out the awful truth. Not only that man is himself corrupt, depraved, and loves his own will, but that he hates goodness—divine goodness—in a Man. Mankind, ruined and fallen, under the deception and pride of God’s enemy, has become the enemy of God. Yes, to those who aren’t born again and those who are, you cannot serve two masters and not be confused.

The truth is that God, when He manifested Himself in the most blessed manner—in His own Son, man under the evil influence of satan, God’s enemy, became the enemy of God.

But in perfect love, God came down in humiliation, putting Himself at the foot of man, beseeching man; for this is truth, not a figure or exaggeration of man’s mind, but God’s own Word.

This is the good news, the news in God’s own recorded Word in heaven and on earth—God needed to be propitiated concerning the sin question and man needed a Substitute, to be reconciled pertaining to his sins, to be kept from a REAL and ETERNAL HELL.

So, the Word of reconciliation, Christ Himself came and beseeched man, and still, today beseeches man, through those that are His, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to be reconciled to God through Christ.

His love beseeching sinners was, and is today, the attitude of divine grace in the Person of Christ.

Man, under satan’s malicious guidance, cast out and crucified Christ. The enemy, today, is still trying to cast out of the minds of men the need of Christ as Savior. Men, who still have a will of their own, still have the opportunity to freely by grace receive Christ into their hearts. Why, because God, through the Cross of Christ, not only demonstrated His love (1 Jhn. 4:10) but wrought out redemption, a work suited even for those that crucified Jesus, capable of blotting out the worst and most evil sin man was ever guilty of.

God has triumphed where man did his worst against Him. You and I, in Christ Jesus, are more than conquerors in the intimacy of His love for us.
