Christ our Ability

Rom. 5:6 We had no ability of our own, nothing at all in ourselves (3:23), Christ died for the ungodly. 5:8-while we, in an ungodly state, when living without Him, were actively sinning against Him, He was manifesting and declaring His love for us. Further, in 5:10-For if,(2nd. class fulfilled condition-if and we were), when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we will be saved by His life. (Please see Rom. 6:9; Col. 3:1-4)

Thank God that He never violated the action of my own will with His in predetermining certain ones to heaven and certain ones to hell. Otherwise, according to these verses, all would be saved and going to heaven. Each individual, even in a fallen condition still has the freedom of choice and potential, with that will, to receive what only Christ has accomplished.

Now, once I have received Him what am I to do? Here are the verses that make it clear to all of us. Please let us all take the time to read them and meditate on them.

Phil. 2:12, work out your own salvation with reverent awe and trembling, FOR IT IS GOD WHICH WORKS IN YOU BOTH TO WILL AND DO OF HIS GOOD PLEASURE. Who, according to this verse is the only one who pleased Him? See Mt. 3:17; 17:5; Rev. 4:11). Please read Eph. 2:1-10--verse 10, “For we are HIS WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS UNTO GOOD WORKS, WHICH GOD HAD BEFORE ORDAINED (PREPARED) THAT WE SHOULD WALK IN THEM.”

2 Cor. 10:4-6; Jhn. 4:34; 5:17; 19:30; Lk. 10:38-42; Heb. 1:1-3; 4:3; Rom. 4:1-8; 6:23; Heb. 13:20 “Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that GREAT SHEPARD of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting testament, MAKE YOU PERFECT (COMPLETE) in every good work (compare Eph. 2:10; Heb. 4.3; Rev. 13:8) to do HIS WILL (compare Jhn. 4:34; Ps.40:6-8; Heb. 10:6-10, notice it says His Will ), working (doing) in you that which is well-pleasing IN HIS SIGHT THROUGH JESUS CHRIST; TO WHOM BE GLORY FOREVER AND EVER, AMEN. (Please see Gal. 6:14; 1 Cor. 3:21-23).
