The love of Christ

Romans 8:35

On Christ we can count; He loves His church (Mt.16:18) now as ever, and though our hearts are weak, how often have I seen His hand of grace come in where all seemed hopeless.

As others have said, “Man’s extremity is God’s opportunity,” and so it is, and in our souls—where to know and experience where deliverance is, that we must learn, and continue to learn, that we cannot deliver ourselves.

We could not do it in our position in Christ (Christ has done it), and cannot experience this reality apart from growing (2 Pet. 3:18) in the decrease of the self-life, to experience the increase. Jn. 3:27 = 1:14 = 3:30 = 1 Cor. 15:3-4. The increase is who Christ has made that individual to be in Himself (Eph. 1:1-23).
