1 Cor. 15:45-48.
15:45, The first man became a living soul. In Gen. 2:7 God breathed a soul (psyche) into “the first man”. He was given a “self-conscious capacity.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. Supply egeneto (became). (See Jhn. 1:1-4,14; 20:22; Phil. 2:6-11).
15:46, Literally, “But not first is the spiritual, but the natural.” This is the law of growth always (2 Pet. 3:18; Jhn. 12:24). 15:47, Earthly (choikos), is a late rare word from chous, dust. (See Psa. 103:14; 119:25). 15:48, all men are of dust (choikoi), “the man of dust” (ho choikos). BUT, our PLACE in Christ is in His ascended state (1 Thess. 4:16; 2 Thess. 1:7; Eph. 2:6, 20; Phil. 3:20).
Our character (who we truly are in Him) is from the character and PLACE He came from. Origin is universally used as characteristic. The expression and reality of who we are is the character of who God made us to be in Christ, His risen Son. (See 1 Jhn. 1:7). We are not “made up” of anything from the “old us” in the first Adam in God’s sight of us in His Son, the Second Adam.
No man ever made himself, never made who he is in Christ. God made His Son (See Heb. 10:5-10) to be the sin-sacrifice, who knew no sin (Heb. 4:15) that we (all in Christ) might BE MADE the righteousness of God IN HIM (2 Cor. 5:21).
The law and man under law-works never MADE or completed anyone or anything, BUT the bringing in of a better hope did, by the which we draw near to God. (Heb. 7:19). Christ in you, the guaranteed hope of a glorious future in Christ, who has glorified His Father, and ours (Jhn. 20:17).
Psa. 100:3, Know you that the Lord He (and He alone) is God: it is He that has MADE US and NOT WE OURSELVES... and WE ARE HIS, MADE BY HIMSELF THROUGH CHRIST ALONE. (please see Gal. 2:16-21).
